Pelorian Designed Website Example

Todd Friedlander Art

toddfriedlanderart.com

Concept:

Creating an online gallery for the artwork of Todd Friedlander.

The site has:

  • Home Page with a slide show featuring eight galleries
  • Eight galleries featuring the artist’s different themes
  • An About page with biography and animated portrait of Todd
  • A Contact page with purchasing information
Designer’s Comments:

Todd had an enormous number of graphic files from his many years of photography and photo manipulations. The largest part of this project fell onto Todd to choose a limited number to show online. In consultations about what kind of design he desired, and what limitations existed in terms of what a website can display and how it can be inviting and easy to navigate, we decided on creating eight galleries on the site with about ten images per gallery. Todd’s artwork is often vivid, and he choose a black background after we looked at several choices. We both agreed the pieces really wonderfully popped out of the darkness. Above all else, Todd requested the design of the website reflect some of the simplicity he so admires in Japanese culture.

Technology Used:

Computer applications and web technology used in building this website:

  • Adobe Photoshop for creating graphics and editing artwork
  • Adobe Dreamweaver for editing and transferring various website files
  • WordPress CMS with custom theme design
  • Various WordPress plugins and Widgets
  • A variety of SEO techniques

“I really love the overall feel of the site, so clean and uncluttered and really showcases your artwork and who you are in a beautiful way.”

“The web site is absolutely fantastic. Technically, it’s dynamic but easy to navigate. More important, it provides a stunning view of your art—a world of contrasting but coherent styles.”
