Pelorian Designed Website Example

Guns and Dope Party

gunsanddopeparty.net

Client’s Request:

In 2003 Robert Anton Wilson created the idea of the Guns and Dope Party as a guerrilla ontological exercise. Rasa created a series of graphics inspired by Bob’s idea. Bob used Rasa’s graphics in a chapter on the GADP in his last published book, Email to the Universe. On behalf of the RAW Estate, Pelorian Digital created the GADP website using Bob’s original writings and thoughts on the party. The writings included excerpts from emails Bob wrote to a group of his friends (known as the GroupMind), and an original web essay he wrote that was published briefly on the maybelogic.com website. Rasa and Bob worked together on the placement of graphics within the text. We designed the website by dividing the essay into sections, and of course adding a number of RAW inspired goodies. The website required:

  • a logical layout for the parts of the GADP philosophy
  • an illogical layout for the parts of the GADP philosophy
  • a playful combination of the two points above
Designer’s Comments:

This website is essentially the digital reformatting of Bob’s writings, Rasa’s graphics, and quotes from emails and conversations with Bob. It’s a fairly simple but modern HTML5 website and, from a web design point of view, serves as an expansion of Bob’s main website, rawilson.com – furthering his footprint on the net and his ideas in multiverse.

Guns-and-Dope-Party

Most excellent work Rasa, it runs loverly smooth here and seems a far more informative experience navigating around the new pages than the old long single ‘gadp’ page. I love the email ‘Warning’ at the bottom of the ‘links’ page, keep up the good work!
