We have eliminated the Deer in the Yard Fund.
Over time we have aided injured deer with the help of local practitioners, and we have paid for herbal and other types of remedies to help cure ill deer. Our original intent was to use the Deer in the Yard Fund to help cover the cost of these efforts. We have not received a lot of donations, but we sincerely thank those few folks who have contributed. Because we are not an official tax-exempt charity we have decided to avoid any legal complications or misunderstandings about our intent by eliminating the fund, and simply paying for whatever costs arise ourselves. Again, thanks to those who have contributed. We have used those funds to pay for some of the remedies for deer we have helped. A portion from the proceeds of our Deer in the Yard online shop are donated to our wildlife conservation efforts. The deer pictured here does seem to have antler gravitational issues, but is otherwise healthy. We pictured him not as an example of the deer we've helped, but just because he seemed to be a likely candidate for a bit of fame. We call him "The Pirate." |
